Allah Almighty answered prayers of Lout Aleh Salam and sent angels in disguise for his help. Those angels first went to Hazrat Ibrahim Aleh Salam with prophecy of an obedient son. Hazrat Ibrahim asked the angles what else their task was. Angels replied that they have the task of destroying insubordinate nation of Lout Aleh Salam. Hazrat Ibrahim Aleh Salam showed his concerns as even Lout Aleh Salam was in the same place. To this angels responded that:

We will save him and his family except his wife who will share fate with the people who will be left behind. (Sura Ankaboot  verse number 31, 32)

Angels reached Sadoom at sunset, in disguise of beautiful young boys and asked Lout Aleh Salam to host them. Lout Aleh Salam thought that if he didn’t host them then someone else will host them which can be dangerous for them. Great majority of scholars agree that these angels were Harat Jibrael, Mikael and Israfeel. Wife of Lout Aleh Salam disclose the news of presence of guests to the men of the community. They all reached at the house of Lout Aleh Salam and asked him to hand over the guests to them. Hazrat Lout Aleh Salam responded with these words:

O my nation! Daughters of my nation are halal and legal for you. Fear Allah and do not put me in embarrassing situation in front of my guests. Isn’t there a single person amongst you who is righteous? (Hood, 78)

To which they answered:

We don’t have any interest in your daughters and you know well about what we cherish. (Hood 79)

After this conversation people attacked house of Lout Aleh Salam, he shut all the doors but some of them climbed up on walls. Angels were seeing all this and consoled Lout Aleh Salam:

O Lout! we are sent by your Lord, none of them will reach you. You can leave with your family at night and none of you should turn your backs while leaving and do not take your wife with you she will have the same fate as these people. Time specified for their torment is morning. (Hood  81)

Lout Aleh Salam followed what angels asked him and left at night with his family. Those people insisted on breaking doors of Lout Aleh Salam home. Seeing this, Jibrael Aleh Salam hit them with his wing and they were blinded. This punishment was for those people who were there with bad intentions. In morning all of them were subject to great torment. It is said in Sura Al Qamar verse number 37: those people wanted to take the guests away from Lout Aleh Salam and we blinded them. Now taste my curse and admonition

Wife of Lout Aleh Salam

Then in the morning whole city was lifted and then thrown back to earth with continuous rain of stones, every stone had name of the person it was supposed to kill inscribed on it. These stones would break their heads to pieces and in few moments everyone and everything was destroyed. It is said in the Holy Quran:

With my orders those dwellings were turned upside down and we rained stones on them that fell continuously on them. (Hood 82)

Allah destroyed the beautiful dwelling of that nation into unfertile and unattractive land that will remain a lesson for the people who are rebellious towards natural ways of life. Allah destroyed this nation 2200 years Before Christ. Few years back some remains of that destruction appeared on the shores of Dead Sea. Allah says in the Holy Quran:    

 And we left this place as a lesson for those who are wise.(Ankaboot 35)

Last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad PBUH said: What I fear most about my Ummah is the act of Lout Aleh Salam’s nation. If you find anyone doing the same act kill both the men involved.
