Dead Sea

Located between Jordan, Israel, the West Bank, and Palestine, the Dead Sea is one of the most unique places on earth. At 1,412 feet below sea level, its shores rank as the lowest land point on earth. Water of Dead Sea is salty to the extent that flora and fauna has no prospects of survival in it. The land surrounding it was once green and fertile, but it has now converted to barren land.

This place was once inhabited by the nation of Prophet Lout Aleh Salam, Lout Aleh Salam was nephew of Hazrat Ibrahim and lived in the same age. This area consisted of few big cities and Sadom was considered as the capital of this area. This area had plenty of gardens. Cultivation of this area was much more than need of its people. Unfortunately, inhabitants of this area were very corrupt people. They were involved in many vicious acts; they would rob the travelers and would exhibit their vicious acts with great pride. This area being rich in many resources was attraction for tourists from all over the world.  This nation was a very corrupt and evil; they had no moral values and they hated to host those guests. They were of the opinion that all resources of their area belongs to them. They thought of ways to stop flow of visitors.

Once when people of the community were thinking on how to stop people coming to their area, Satan came in disguise of an old man and suggested that they should follow what he says if they want to stop people coming to their place. He suggested that all male visitors should be sexually assaulted and in this way they will be able to get rid of visitors. This was a very unethical and new way that nation of Lout Aleh Salam followed whole heartedly. They would do this immoral act openly and would feel pride in it.

Allah Almighty sent Prophet Lout and he asked people to worship one Allah and leave this immoral act of homosexuality.

Are you into immoral acts? You leave women and go to males for sexual satisfaction, indeed you are ignorant people. (Sura Nimal verse 54, 55)

His nation didn’t pay any heed to the preaching of Lout Aleh Salam and kept doing immoral acts with even more passion. They would consider Lout Aleh Salam as someone who is interrupting their lifestyle and decided to exclude Lout Aleh Salam from their community. In response to the preaching of Lout Aleh Salam his nation said:

O Lout! if you do not stop bothering us then you will find yourself among the exiled ones (Sura Al Sharaa verse no.167)

Instead of being disappointed Lout Aleh Salam continued preaching to them but the unfortunate people demanded for the wrath of Allah Almighty. They said to Lout Aleh Salam:

If you are true then bring curse on us. (Ankaboot, 29)

After demand of his nation, Lout Aleh Salam became sure that these people will not follow him. Lout Aleh Salam prayed to Allah:

O my Lord! Help me out in confronting these rebellious people. (Ankaboot, 30)
