River in Jordan where Jesus was baptized

Muslim revere Jesus as a holy prophet. According to the Holy Quran he was prophet of Allah, born to a virgin mother Mary or Maryum and was gifted with many miracles. Holy Quran tells us that he was not crucified on the cross but was miraculously raised to heavens. Before Judgment Day he will come back to kill Dajjal and will restore peace on earth with Imam Mehdi.

Muslims have great reverence for Hazrat Maryum too. There is an entire chapter in the Holy Quran by her name. Rest of women are called by their relation to prophets or other people but Hazrat Maryum is the only female who is named in the Holy Quran.

Verse no. 45 of sura Al Imran tells us about good news given to Hazrat Maryum about the birth of Jesus Christ. Verse number 46 tells us about prophecy regarding speaking of Christ in his infancy and then in adulthood too and his being among the righteous. Hazrat Maryum gets astonished and asks how she will give birth to a child as no man has ever touched her? She is answered that Allah creates what He wills, when He intends a matter He simply says ‘Be and it happens’ (verse no. 47).

Verse no. 49 of Sura Al Imran tells us about miracles given to Jesus Christ. He was bestowed with miracle of giving life to birds made from clay when he would breathe into them. He would cure blind and heal leper and would bring the dead back to life by Allah’s will. He would prophesize what someone ate and what they stored in their houses.

Verse no. 51 puts an end to all the disputes and controversies among Muslims and all other faiths where Allah tells us that Jesus proclaimed “Allah is my Lord and your lord too so worship Him and this is the right path.”

May Allah bless us all with the true understanding of Holy Quran
